The
Communicative English Program (CEP) is a semi-intensive, skill-based
program focusing on English as an International Language (EIL).
Approximately 140 learners attend classes five days a week. Learners
are pre-tested and placed into six proficiency levels. CEP has clearly
stated goals that were created by consensus with the major stakeholders
of NUIS.
Although designed primarily as a language program, the energy and
enthusiasm experienced in CEP sets the pace for first year students
as they continue their other courses in the Department of Information
Studies.
