It is the sole official language of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It is the language most likely to be used when a Chinese, a Korean and a Thai communicate with each other.In Asia, people change English to suit their own needs. Asian people do not copy American English or British English in its original form. Their purpose of learning English is not to sound like native speakers of English.
